Thursday 26. June 2008 - Superfos new Eco line has been awarded the 20th DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation
UniPak Eco is a 100% recycled and recyclable container with the same high barrier quality as the rest of Superfos products. UniPak Eco marks the beginning of a new Superfos eco era that leaves the world a little bit better – and the packaging line perfectly matches the new focus on sustainability in this years DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovations.
“We are honoured and very pleased to be selected as a noteworthy accomplishment winner by the DuPont Awards. Several years of product innovation have already resulted in weight reduction, optimised pallets and savings on raw material and energy consumption. Thus, the Eco line is the result of an ongoing focus on reducing the CO2 footprint of our products,” says Corporate Communication Manager Annette Gottsche from Superfos.
Massive CO2 reductions
As UniPak Eco is made of 100% recyclable material, it is estimated to reduce the CO2 footprint by 74%. This massive reduction marks a big step towards a smaller carbon footprint and Superfos is ready to continue the green journey.
“The Superfos Eco stamp ensures that significant environmental concerns have been implemented in the packaging solutions and in the near future, we aim to increase the concept by a number of Superfos brands in new, recycled and recyclable variants,” says Annette Gottsche.
The sustainable packaging concept is based on the use of post consume raw material only and all containers will be recyclable. The first solution within the Eco line, UniPak Eco, will be released in spring 2008.
