WRH Marketing UK Provides Complete Packaging Line with Jobfolio

The JobStrap compensating stacker is one of a range of post press finishing systems within the Jobfolio series available from WRH Marketing UK

Tuesday 21. July 2009 - The recent expansion of the Jobfolio range of post-press finishing equipment means that WRH Marketing UK Ltd is today able to provide a complete packaging line for the mailroom, from the press to dispatch. The range will be extended even further later in the year, when the company launches JobTrim, a three-knife trimmer with the capacity to handle up to 32-pages at high speed.

“The ability to purchase from one source a comprehensive packaging line has really grabbed the attention of a large number of newspaper, semi-commercial and commercial web printers around Europe,” says Lee Whatmough who heads WRH Marketing UK Ltd.

“The Jobfolio series is an increasingly important element within our UK product portfolio. Customers report significant improvements in productivity and consistency of material handling, which often enables cost effective processing of difficult work that previously could not be taken on. In addition, the cost performance ratio results in a quick return on investment.”

Work can be fed from the press into the Jobfolio line via the industry-leading Ferag STR conveyor system. The JobFolio range includes feeding, stacking, strapping and underwrapping systems, each of which incorporates leading edge technology, plus the strong but highly competitively priced JobPop strapping material.

JobFeed is a high-performance log feeder that can be interfaced to virtually any flat pile feeder, including those from Ferag, Heidelberg/Harris/AM, Muller Martini, Kolbus, Sitmas and Buhrs. There are several models, allowing JobFeed to be used with a wide range of work such as newspapers, catalogues, directories, books and magazines.

The ergonomically designed units are easy to use and maintain, while their rugged construction ensures they are built to last. Changing over between jobs can be carried out quickly. A single JobFeed unit allowed one UK newspaper printer to reduce casual labour by 25 per cent, resulting in a payback period of only nine months.

Features incorporated within JobFeed include variable speed and synchronised tail and side joggers. The single, continuously arched infeed conveyor provides excellent control of the product, resulting in fewer machine stops and less wastage. The JobFeed unit can handle the smallest to the largest product, feeding them securely and reliably into virtually any pocket or hopper on the market. The pile height adjusts automatically to ensure consistent feeding. The CE certified unit has an optional log extension, which increases capacity.

JobStack consists of two state-of-the-art compensating stackers for the low to mid performance sectors. JobStack 20 processes between 1 mm to 32 mm at speeds up to 20,000 cph and is designed for use with gatherer-stitchers and perfect binders. JobStack 75 has been built for use with newspaper and commercial web presses, rotary three-side cutters and inserting machines. It can handle 75,000 cph and paginations between four and 96 pages.

JobStrap can be used in a line as a tandem cross strapping system for securing newspapers and magazines, or as a stand-alone machine for the application of single, parallel or cross straps. Producing up to 25 bundles per minute, JobStrap uses variable-speed dual infeed belts and triple exit belts to guarantee optimum control of the bundle. The unique design of the TCT bundle turner means that bundles are rotated through 90 degrees without using a conventional turntable, yet the system retains a single or parallel strap back-up facility during changes of strap coil.

JobWrap provides effective protection of products using a low-cost underwrap. It is ideal when used with tying equipment such as the JobStrap N. JobPop is a lightweight strapping material that results in a large volume per roll and a reduction in strapping material costs.
