IFRA presents international and regional events in Europe, North Africa and India

Thursday 19. June 2008 - IFRA offers a highly diversified programme of conferences and study tours in the second half of 2008 (www.ifra.com/events). The focus will be on new developments and latest challenges for the news publishing industry, such as business models, cross-media marketing, digital publishing as well as a variety of hot topics at IFRA’s regional events.

IFRA events – always dedicated to highly topical subjects – act as platforms for experts and specialists from all over the world, the network for information and knowledge exchange as well as the meeting place for the decision-makers in the news publishing industry.

IFRA events calendar from September to November 2008

17 and 18 September: “IFRA India”
in Goa, India (in English).
16th Annual Conference including its popular ‘Publishers’ and ‘Technical’ Forum discussing contemporary topics of interest to newspaper publishers in the region.

22 to 25 September: “Leaders 2008” – The Newspaper Executive Development Programme at SIMI
in Copenhagen, Denmark (in English).
The training programme in three modules for newspaper managers destined for the top.

25 and 26 September: “IFRA South East Europe”
in Ljubljana, Slovenia (in English, Slovenian and Croatian).
For the 3rd year running, IFRA will invite newspapers publishers and suppliers from the region to meet and get informed on the latest developments and trends in publishing and printing.

9 and 10 October: “The Future of News Publishing”
in Rome, Italy (in English).
The most recent developments in the news publishing industry and their impact on business models, strategies and tactics of media houses.


19 to 25 October: “Pre-IFRA Expo Study Tour:
Semi-commercial Printing in Europe”, Europe
(in English).
A tour during which the technical implementations for semi-commercial printing will be discussed in order to be abreast of the rapid changes in the newspaper publishing industry.

27 to 30 October: “IFRA Expo 2008” in Amsterdam,
The Netherlands.
“The annual event of the news publishing industry”, described as the ‘big picture’ on the latest on newspaper and media publishing and printing. More than 10,000 visiting newspaper executives from more than 80 countries.

27 to 29 October: “Newspapers Today – Focus Sessions
at IFRA Expo” in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
(in English).
IFRA offers a number of focus sessions accompanying its yearly exhibition – each focussing on a specific main area of interest: Business & Management, Advertising, Newspaper Production, Colour/Quality Management and Strategies in Newsrooms.

6 and 7 November: “Conférence IFRA Afrique du Nord”
in Tunis, Tunisia (in Arabic and French).
The main event for the North African news publishing industry.

20 and 21 November: “Beyond the Printed Word” –
the 16th World Digital Publishing Conference
in Budapest, Hungary (in English, German, French
and Spanish).
This established event presents the latest trends in the digital newspaper business, successful case studies and a truly global overview.

25 and 26 November: “IFRA Middle East Conference”
in Cairo, Egypt (in Arabic and English).
The meeting point for publishers in the Middle East offering an up-to-date overview of pressing business issues as well as technical topics.
