IFRA Italia 2008 on 18 and 19 June in Sirmione (Lake Garda)

Monday 21. April 2008 - Italian newspaper industry will meet on shores of Lake Garda

The eleventh edition of IFRA Italia, the international conference for the newspaper business community, will take place on 18 and 19 June 2008 in the city of Sirmione, on the southern shore of Lake Garda (www.ifra.com/events). The conference will present case studies and best practices from insiders of the Italian and international news publishing industries.

IFRA Italia 2008 is organised, as in previous years, by IFRA, FIEG (Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers) and ASIG (Italian Association of Newspaper Printers), with the aim of bringing together leading professionals to discuss the latest topics in the industry, share experiences and find solutions to the most common problems: from industrial production management to the challenges for publishers and editors facing a rapidly changing media environment.

The programme this year will focus on “Newspapers and Advertising: the New Frontiers of Development”. This content will involve publishers, advertising trading companies and printers in a debate on strategies and technologies to develop the full potential of the printed media in the advertising market. This aims to achieve better, more appealing and more effective full-colour printed advertising as well as to offer new opportunities from the interaction between print and web media.

In the afternoon of the second day, IFRA Italia will offer, among other highlights, a session focused on “Newspaper Printing Plants: Technology and the New Frontiers of Quality”, during which some of the most interesting international printing experiences will be presented.
Further information on the programme and speakers is available on www.ifra.com/events. All presentations will be translated into English and Italian.
