IFRA Expo India 2009 from 15 to 17 September in Hyderabad

Monday 28. April 2008 - Next year’s IFRA India event will showcase offerings from world’s top vendors to the publishing industry

IFRA Expo India, the second-largest international exhibition in the world for trends and practices in the newspaper printing and publishing industry, will return in September 2009. The three-day event to be organised by IFRA India will be held from 15 to 17 September 2009 at the Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad (www.ifraexpo.com/india2009).

IFRA Expo India is the second-largest such exhibition after the main IFRA Expo held in Europe. The Indian Expo in Hyderabad will feature major exhibitors and service providers from the news publishing industry. Many leading exhibitors have already expressed interest in participating in the show.

Michael Heipel, IFRA Director of Exhibition and Sales, says: “IFRA Expo India 2007 was a major success for everyone – exhibitors, visitors and IFRA as organiser. We are now focused on raising the show to the next level. The Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad is the perfect venue to do this, to complement the pace of the expanding Indian news publishing market. We are looking forward to a comprehensive trade show for the South Asian markets in 2009 at Hyderabad.”

Magdoom Mohamed, Managing Director of IFRA India, adds: “We were absolutely delighted with the result of our Expo last year. Exhibitors were very happy with the business they did on the three days. We are now working to build on this success and are confident of making IFRA Expo India 2009 yet another memorable expo for the news publishing industry. Given the booming Indian economy and the tremendous opportunity in publishing business in India, we expect an even better response than in 2007, and to have more than 150 exhibitors and about 4,000 visitors.”

IFRA Expo India 2007 in Chennai, the first IFRA Expo to be held outside Europe, was a huge success with 111 exhibitors participating and about 3,000 visitors attending.

Running concurrently with IFRA Expo India 2009 will be the IFRA India 17th Annual Conference. Noted speakers from India and abroad will share their experiences at the various forums planned. At the Chennai Conference, nearly 600 delegates had attended. To cater to supplier interest, an attractive list of sponsorships is being worked out.
