Xeikon presents Benchmark Quality at Druck+Form 2009

Friday 18. September 2009 - Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix, is to showcase its Xeikon 5000plus digital printing press at Druck+Form 2009. The company will demonstrate a wide range of digital applications for the packaging market. The event, takes place from 14-16 October in Sinsheim Germany, and Xeikon can be found in Hall 6 at stand 6103.

“With digital printing technology advancing all the time, it can be difficult to keep up with all its new applications,” says Frank Vanmeenen, Global Marketing Manager Punch Graphix. “In the current climate, however, its crucial printers keep pace with digital and understand the commercial opportunities it brings.

“Druck + Form is the perfect backdrop to demonstrate exactly what digital can do. We’ll show printers how they can use Xeikon technology to create a more efficient and productive set-up, explore new markets and ultimately generate new revenue.”

Xeikon 5000plus – raising the bar in quality and performance

This enhanced digital press incorporates Xeikon’s unique One-Pass-DuplexTM technology, enabling perfect front-to-back registration and simultaneous double-sided printing. The Xeikon 5000Plus can print duplex B2 size for any length at low costs at a resolution of 1,200dpi, up to 500mm width, and can handle substrates of up to 350gsm. It incorporates Xeikon’s X-800 digital front-end, which enables seamless and fast integration with any existing workflow.

The Xeikon 5000plus with the specially developed Xeikon FA toner is Pantone Certified and guarantees color consistency over time and vibrant colors. Xeikon FA toner is FDA-approved for certain food contact applications, making it ideal for packaging applications.

The Xeikon 5000plus comes with a variable web input module as standard. This gives customers a unique format and unbeaten substrate flexibility in terms of width, format, weight and type, enabling a wide range of value-generating applications. Plus no coating or pre-treatment is needed.

At the show, the main focus will be on creative applications in duplex and simplex, and also carton boxes for the packaging market.

“Customers’ needs are changing all the time and they need technology that can evolve accordingly,” says Vanmeeenen. “We understand that it’s not always possible to invest in brand new systems, particularly in these difficult economic times. This is why we’ve ensured Xeikon technology has a clear upgrade path. When customers face the welcome challenge of servicing increased demand, they can upgrade the Xeikon 5000plus press to a Xeikon 6000 and immediately boost speed and capacity.”
