Xeikon to Showcase Digital Portfolio at FAN 2009

Jos Liekens

Thursday 10. September 2009 - Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix,  has underlined its commitment to the French market by exhibiting at leading print event, FAN 2009. The company will be demonstrating a wide range of digital applications for different markets, including TransPromo, direct mail, digital label printing and on-demand printing. FAN 2009 takes place in Paris between 29-30 September.  Xeikon can be found at booth F36.

As part of its commitment to helping its customers boost productivity and generate new revenue, Xeikon will focus in particular on the fast-growing TransPromo market. TransPromo involves printing targeted promotional information on statements and invoices, giving companies a highly effective way to communicate their marketing messages to their customers.  Advances in digital print technology have eliminated the need for to combine digital and offset printing, enabling the full-color personalization of statements without reverting to offset pre-printed color shells.

“The TransPromo and direct mail markets are heading towards increasingly complex, high-quality prints and ever-tighter deadlines,” says Jos Liekens, Managing Director of Punch Graphix Benelux & France. “Producing a high volume of such prints presents significant challenges in terms of print quality, productivity and data processing.  When it comes to printing speed and productivity, Xeikon’s web-fed presses lead the way. Web-fed presses are intrinsically faster and ideal for heavy-duty print jobs. With the Xeikon 8000, we’ve made a giant leap forward in terms of printing speed – it prints full-color, multi-page documents at a top speed of 230 A4 pages per minute, or 13,800 A4 pages per hour.”

When it comes to maximizing productivity, Liekens acknowledges that speed alone is not enough: “Xeikon machines are robust. With the Xeikon 8000, for example, our engineers have created a rock-solid reliable engine for high-volume applications. It offers an exceptional uptime of 90%, with duty cycles of 8.5 million A4 pages per month.”

Another productivity-enhancing feature is Xeikon’s One-Pass-DuplexTM technology. As well as enabling simultaneous double-sided printing, it also ensures 100% data integrity. This is crucial for documents containing critical financial information, such as those used in TransPromo applications.

“France is a very important market for us and a territory where we’re enjoying considerable growth. FAN is a great opportunity to meet with our existing customers and partners in the region,” says Liekens.  “Plus it offers us a great chance to show printers how our digital solutions can help them improve productivity, and generate new revenue by tapping into lucrative new markets.”
