Xeikon Partners With Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund

Wednesday 22. July 2009 - Xeikon Pledges Corporate Commitment to Donate All Card Printing Services to the 2009 Holiday Greetings Program

Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix, legendary for pioneering the first digital color presses, and The Jimmy Fund, a leading supporter of the fight against cancer in children and adults at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, today announced that the two companies have entered into a corporate partnership for the upcoming 2009 Holiday Greetings program, which includes exclusively designed cards, candles and creations used to raise money to help support the organization’s cancer research.
“When Xeikon approached The Jimmy Fund about donating the full scope of card printing and finishing services for our 2009 Holiday Greetings program, we were not only thrilled by their eagerness to become involved, we were touched by their commitment to our initiative, as well,” said Mike Andrews, former Red Sox player and longtime chairman of the Jimmy Fund.
With this partnership, Xeikon and Advantage Mailing, Inc., one of Xeikon’s premier customers, have agreed to donate all printing and finishing services for the production of festive holiday cards in order to help offset the costs for this year’s program. These cards, as well as other items such as candles and ornaments, will also be available for purchase to support the adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Through this program, spearheaded by The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will receive one hundred percent of the sales, which will further benefit the program’s goals towards providing an exceptional level of care for cancer patients and their families. In 2008, the Holiday Greetings program raised over $400,000, and with continued corporate involvement, the program is well positioned to exceed this amount in 2009.
“Throughout the many relationships and bonds that I have developed during my career within the printing industry, I can say without a doubt that this partnership brings our company both unparalleled joy and immense pride,” said Michael V. Ring, Vice President of Sales & Chief Marketing Officer of Xeikon’s North American operations. “We’re honored to be a part of The Jimmy Fund’s efforts and our commitment to the 2009 Holiday Greetings program is something that we hold dear to our hearts. Our hope is to continue this bond and extend our pledge until the mutual goal is met; a world that is free from the pain of cancer.”
Under this initiative, over 250,000 holiday cards would be produced on the unique Xeikon 8000 digital color technology. The cards will be produced at Advantage Mailing, Inc. in Orange, CA, a leader in technology-driven direct mail production services. The greeting cards can be used for both personal and professional recipients, and can be purchased by emailing, or visiting the Holiday Greetings page on the Jimmy Fund Web site.
