Amdocs Releases New Features for Digital Content Retailing Platform
Wednesday 13. August 2008 - Qpass Retail Suite updates enable service providers to further personalize and improve the customer experience
Amdocs (NYSE:DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced the availability of the Amdocs CES — Qpass Retail Suite 7.5, a complete digital content retailing platform enabling service providers to deliver a personalized retail experience across multiple screens and all media types. The latest version of the Qpass Retail Suite is part of Amdocs CES, Amdocs’ customer experience systems platform, and allows consumers to access more digital content information online and perform an expanded set of functions in an easy-to-use self-service mode. The new release supports third party programs such as widgets that extend retailing to innovative Web 2.0 outlets, such as social networking sites and personalized portals.
“To drive digital commerce revenues, service providers must simplify the premium content purchasing process and take advantage of the latest Web 2.0 technologies, such as mash-ups, widgets and social networking applications,” said Charles Born, vice president of corporate communications for Amdocs. “As we continue to enhance our CES product suite, the latest version of the Qpass Retail Suite enables service providers to personalize the storefront for the customer, bringing them on par with leading online retailers. That kind of personalization aimed at helping customers create a digital lifestyle encourages them to buy — and to keep coming back.”
With the newest version of the Qpass Retail Suite, service providers can deliver a satisfying and consistent customer experience across all media types, channels and screens, including mobile, PC, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and other forms of technologies that may emerge in the future. These new features give both service providers and their on- and off-portal content partners a greater ability to increase profits and reduce customer churn.
Significant new features include:
— Content Locker enables consumers to view all their digital rights in one place and conduct functions such as re-downloading content, requesting a refund or renewing a subscription, all via a self service interface.
— Two-Phase Purchase guarantees that sufficient funds are available before the purchase and that the customer is charged only upon successful delivery of content to their device.
— Qpass Product Modeling Language (QPML) delivers business agility by allowing service providers to quickly change the characteristics of an existing category of digital good or service, or introduce an entirely new one, without a platform upgrade. For example, a service provider can quickly add a new product category such as multi-player games, reducing time-to-market from months to days.
