Bill Laidlaw, managing director of DNG Media

Friday 08. August 2008 - First UK install of Brillia LP-NNW CTP newspaper plate

Fujifilm today announces that DNG Media, the largest independent publisher and printer of newspapers in Dumfries and Galloway with over 36,000 newspapers printed, circulated and distributed every week, is the first company in the UK to adopt Fujifilm’s new Brillia LP-NNW violet CTP plate as part of its move to a fully-automated CTP workflow.

Manufactured in Tilburg, Netherlands, the Brillia LP-NNW plate is a highly-sensitive violet CTP plate for newspaper applications and has been designed to be used with reduced laser power on all violet newspaper platesetters.

The Brillia LP-NNW plate uses Fujifilm’s patented MultiGrain technology with run lengths of up to 200,000 impressions. It offers a sharp dot from highlight to shadow areas, has simple operating conditions under yellow safelight and offers long processor developer life with reduced cleaning and overall maintenance costs.

Bill Laidlaw, managing director, says: “We have been using Fujifilm conventional plates and film for some time now and were very happy with the quality of our titles when we initially moved to Fujifilm. It was therefore a natural progression to move to Fujifilm LP-NNW CTP plates when we decided to move to a CTP workflow with the Krause Smart ‘N’ Easy jet solution.”

DNG Media publishes and prints the paid for titles of the Annandale Series – Annandale Observer, Annandale Herald and the Moffat News as well as the Dumfries Courier, a free newspaper which is distributed directly into Dumfries, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Thornhill and surrounding communities.
