Fujifilm helps Mencap celebrate the sixth annual Snap!

Monday 14. July 2008 - London's Proud Camden gallery played host to a night of celebration, as winners of Mencap's Snap! photo competition 2008 came together on Wednesday 18th June for the glittering awards party.

The winners were presented with Fujifilm digital cameras from the stars of stage and screen with Sarah Lark and Keisha Amposa-Banson from BBC1’s ‘I’d Do Anything’ show and Adam Child from Channel 4’s ‘Shipwrecked’ programme presenting the prizes and congratulating all the winners.

In the six categories Fujifilm awarded the FinePix J50, FinePix F50fd and the FinePix S1000fd as prizes for bronze, silver and gold level.

This year’s Awards were attended by the newly appointed Managing Director of Fujifilm UK Ltd Mr Mamoru Matsushita, HR and Sales functions were also in attendance along with staff representatives.

Snap! is Mencap’s photo and story competition, now in its sixth year. The competition, run by the UK’s leading learning disability charity, showcases the talents of people with a learning disability through photographs and inspiring stories to increase understanding of learning disability by those closest to it.

Alex Proud, founder of Proud Galleries, commented: “The quality and depth of work is stunning and trying to pick the winners was near impossible. In my whole life of working in photography, I don’t think any set of photos has ever made me laugh, cry, gasp or admire quite so much.”
