The Artemis Transat – Fujifilm yacht – day ten
Tuesday 20. May 2008 - Fujifilm is currently in 7th position in the Artemis Transat.
Speaking to Alex Bennett earlier, he said: “Its been a tough night and I was pretty tired with sail changes. I managed to try and have a cat nap for 45 minutes and ended up asleep for a couple of hours on the chart table! My body obviously needed it. We have a calm glassy sea with a force 2 wind strength at the moment and Im currently travelling about 4 knots which is a good speed in these conditions. It would be good to have a little bit more wind behind us though!
Ive been doing a lot of work on deck and have temporarily fixed the main sail issue that I had. Ive just had some breakfast and am keeping my energy reserves up for the approach to the ice gate, which is about 450 miles away.”
