Exhibitor Day Marks the Start of Build Up to Ipex 2010

Delegates at the Ipex 2010 Exhibitor Day

Monday 14. September 2009 - Over 300 delegates from across the globe attended the Ipex 2010 Exhibitor Day at the NEC, Birmingham, UK last week to find out how to maximise their presence at the international Ipex 2010 exhibition which will take place from 18th - 25th May 2010.

Hosted by the Ipex 2010 organisers, this one day event provided comprehensive presentations on the show layout, floor plans, the international marketing campaign, visitor attractions, co-marketing and initiatives as well as stand build operations and accommodation packages.

George Clarke, the Ipex 2010 President and MD of Heidelberg UK, opened the event by saying that, “Ipex 2010 could be the most important Ipex ever if we do see the green shoots of recovery as predicted.” But in his speech he also urged exhibitors to engage as early as possible with their customers and invite them to their stands if they want to see maximum return on investment from the exhibition.

Visitors were extremely upbeat about the introduction of the comprehensive free co-marketing tools designed to help exhibitors to invite customers and prospects directly to their stands. Ipex 2010 Marketing Director, Nick Craig Waller, also provided information about the recently launched Performance Index tool, an efficient and free consultancy service which enables exhibitors to easily identify and prioritise their show objectives and evaluate how well these objectives have been achieved by providing precise measurable results.

Following the presentations, exhibitors were invited to an informal buffet lunch, during which they had the opportunity to visit a small exhibition set up by the organisers, in order for delegates to talk to some of the Ipex 2010 partners about practical issues such as accommodation, travel, attractions around Birmingham and Britain, translations and the exhibition catalogue. Representatives from Ipex 2010, the NEC and the event services company, Melville, guided delegates around the exhibition space and provided tips and recommendations regarding stand builds.

Ipex 2010 Event Director, Trevor Crawford, says, “The Exhibitor Day has been designed to help exhibitors identify opportunities they can capitalise on in the run-up to Ipex, but also to demonstrate how exhibitors can take control of their exhibition ROI. Feedback about the day has been extremely positive and we’ll continue to work closely with exhibitors in the next eight months to ensure that Ipex 2010 lives up to expectations to be the most important Ipex ever.”

The UK Exhibitor Day forms part of the Ipex 2010 international marketing tour which has seen the team travelling to the Netherlands, Germany, China, France and Japan, with two further stops in Italy at the end of this month, and India in October.

Commenting on the event, Graham Leeson, Marketing Communications Manager, from FUJIFILM Europe says, “Everything is pointing towards Ipex 2010 being a truly great show, and we found the Exhibitor Day a very helpful stepping stone in our preparations.”

Andy Cook, CEO of FFEI adds “Despite the difficult economic environment, we have ultimate confidence that Ipex 2010 will be the perfect platform for us and as a result, we’ve increased our stand space considerably. The timing is right, the show is ‘building a head of steam’ and we look forward to participating at another successful major event.”
