Monday 15. June 2009 - ‘Champions in Print’ is an exciting new global initiative from the organisers of Ipex 2010 that aims to recognise and celebrate individuals who have shaped and influenced the printing industry across the world. These include, but are not limited to, those who have developed groundbreaking technology, produced stunning applications, executed challenging projects, created iconic designs or delivered excellent customer service.

Nominations for any living person who has had an impact on the printing industry can be made by visiting www.ipex.org/cip and completing an on-line form with a brief summary of the nominee’s achievements. Every quarter, the Ipex Advisory Committee, which represents a broad range of major exhibitors, visitor groups and trade associations, decides which of the nominees has met the criterion and deserves this prestigious accolade. If your Champion will not be selected during the next round, he or she can be entered again in multiple periods. By the time we reach Ipex 2010, there will be 10 deserving individuals that have been named a ‘Champion in Print’. The Ipex organisers will host an official Awards’ reception for all ‘Champions in Print’ at the event, which will take place from 18th – 25th May at the NEC, Birmingham, UK.

Previous winners include Indigo founder Benny Landa, who had spearheaded the development of digital colour printing technologies, JK Rowling whose Harry Potter series of novels have resulted in the phenomenal increase in the production of the printed book, and Frank Romano, Emeritus Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in the USA, who has helped to advance knowledge of print for five decades through his books, publications and appearances in consumer media.
