ZFM Stack Infeed For Efficient Book Sewing

Short ways for the operator at the Ventura also with the ZFM stack infeed system. Deposit of signatures and removal of bookblocks – the operator takes care of both from almost the same position.

The upgradable ZFM stack infeed system makes book sewing with the Ventura and Ventura MC by Müller Martini even more efficient. The ZFM allows a continuous and automatic product infeed and increases the book manufacturer’s machine productivity.
Even at top machine speed, the ZFM stack infeed makes sure that there are always enough signatures in the hopper feeder of the Ventura book sewing machine. This allows best utilization of the Ventura and guarantees high productivity of the entire system. The bookbinder puts the loose bookblocks stacked up to a height of 195 mm onto the slip-torque conveyor where they are buffered and transported to the feeder. Seven A-5 or ten A-6 bookblock stacks can run on the conveyor at the same time. At the end of the buffer section the stacks are synchronized and handed over to the loader fork, which automatically desposits them in the hopper feeder as needed.

The ZFM stack infeed system allows the operator to work flexibly and efficiently. Even at full machine speed he can supply an always sufficient amount of signatures. At the same time, he has more time to prepare the material and to check the quality of the finished bookblocks. Although the operator can deposit a larger amount of signatures at a time, the automatic infeed makes sure to keep the stack height low at the feeder. Safe and gentle pull-off is guaranteed even for demanding materials such as coated and low-grammage paper.

The ZFM stack infeed system renders booksewing more cost-effective and contributes to a high-quality result. It can also be retrofit to already installed Ventura and Ventura MC booksewing machines.
