Book Data Center Records all Relevant Book Measurement Data for the Entire Perfect Binder Line

Once the measurement process is complete, the new Book Data Center transfers the relevant data directly to the line assemblies to rule out the risk of faulty inputs.

Tuesday 24. March 2009 - Muller Martini Makes Life Easier for Machine Operators

The new BDC (Book Data Center) for the Acoro, Bolero and Corona perfect binder lines from Muller Martini provides bookbinders with a tool to boost efficiency. The BDC enables all relevant book measurement data for the entire perfect binder line to be recorded and retrieved by the individual machines.

The BDC comprises a measuring table on a moveable base unit. The modern control system featuring a touchscreen assists the machine operator during operation and provides a host of benefits:

? The book data is accurately measured for the entire perfect binder line
? Only minimal precision corrections are needed to achieve top-rate quality
? The entire perfect binder line can be changed over in no time at all and is ready for production
? Faulty inputs are a thing of the past
? Subsequent orders can be prepared using the BDC

BDC enables the book mass to be recorded, which is relevant for setting up the rotary gathering machine, stream feeder, perfect binder, front trimmer, splitting saw/turnover belt, three-knife trimmer and counter stacker. The electronic book data center is linked to the controls of the line assemblies. Once the measurement process is complete, the relevant data can be directly transferred to the line assemblies. The effective set-up time is reduced to a minimum because subsequent orders can be prepared on the BDC during production.
