Le Quotidien Jurassien starts print production using an alfa system solution

Wednesday 24. December 2008 - With a daily circulation of 22,000 and about 50,000 readers, Le Quotiden is one of the leading daily newspapers in the canton of Jura and Berner Jura area in Switzerland. In addition to regional news, the paper also focuses on business, social and cultural issues as well as sporting events.

The paper has now switched its print production processes to run on alfa Media solutions. In this context, the successful rollout was the logical result of meticulous preparation: The team completed the transition within a very short time and only required around two months to produce the first publication. The final successful outcome was a seamless transition to the new system, which was also accompanied by a change in layout.

From now on, Le Quotidien Jurassien will use products by alfa OpenMedia: alfa Product Planner, the planning tool for printed products, alfa NewsSuite Enterprise, the editorial system with the alfa PageOne DTP-editor as well as the alfa ProductTracker module for production tracking. In future, image indexing both for internal and external users will be carried out using alfa PhotoReporter, which provides structured storage for all photo images and graphics.

The next stage will see Le Quotidien Jurassien switch to the alfa AdSuite Enterprise advertisement management system.
