Cincinnati Shop Enjoys New POLAR Cutter from Heidelberg

Friday 12. December 2008 - Seemless Design & Printing, a general commercial shop in Cincinnati, Ohio, briefly contemplated buying used equipment when it needed a new cutter.

Instead, the company chose a new POLAR 78 XS cutter from Heidelberg for its speed and accuracy. “We went this route so we could customize the cutter to our specific needs,” said Christian Wilhelmy, the pressroom manager at Seemless. “The machine is beautiful, fast, and accurate— and our operators really like it. The blade drops and the back gate moves with such speed it’s just impressive to listen to it in motion.” With four employees, everybody in the shop does a little bit of everything — thus the user-friendly interface on the POLAR 78 XS is a big benefit. “The cutter is easy to learn, so any of our employees can jump on there and cut away,” Wilhelmy said. “Heidelberg’s training was impeccable.” Seemless runs a variety of jobs for clients ranging from entertainment-based companies to those in the nonprofit, arts and theatre communities. In addition to the new cutter, the shop also operates a 4-color Heidelberg QM DI Pro press and a Stahlfolder folder.
