Florida InstyPrints Replaces Aging Cutter with New POLAR from Heidelberg

Wednesday 12. November 2008 - After his experience buying a 2-color Printmaster QM 46 press from Heidelberg in January, Don Bailey didn’t think twice about where to look when it came time to upgrade his shop’s cutter in June.

“We really did not look anywhere else,” he said. “Our cutter was more than 50 years old. It still worked, but if something ever happened to it, we would be down — and you can’t afford to be down.” Bailey, who runs InstyPrints in Gainesville, Fla., went with a POLAR 78 XS cutter from Heidelberg. “I saw a similar POLAR at the Allegra Network convention in Houston,” Bailey said. “We watched it operate and saw how quiet it was and how well it cut, and that sold me on the cutter.” Gainesville InstyPrints is marking its 25th anniversary this year; the shop, which has seven employees, specializes in brochures, stationery and poster work. Bailey uses Heidelberg Saphira Consumables for the press, and also appreciates his shop’s relationship with Heidelberg service. “Our service technician is very knowledgeable and helpful on the rare occasions when we need him,” Bailey said.
