Yakima Shop Finds Perfect Fit with Heidelberg Printmaster PM 52

Thursday 11. December 2008 - The Print Guys, Inc., an all-Heidelberg shop in Yakima, Wash., recently added a new 2-color Printmaster PM 52 with perfector to its pressroom.

“We have a big need for a lot of 1/1 work and straight two-color work, such as newsletters, flyers and books,” said Dave Ackerman, the shop’s owner. “This press was just the perfect fit for us.” Ackerman started The Print Guys 11 years ago, and since then has purchased four other shops. In addition to the main location in Yakima, the company also has operations in Wenatchee and Colfax, with 20 employees across all locations. The shop is a general commercial and business printer, running everything from product information and brochures to letterhead, envelopes and business cards. In addition to the new PM 52, The Print Guys also runs a 4-color Quickmaster DI and two Printmaster QM 46 presses. In prepress, the company runs a Quicksetter 300E and a Suprasetter A52, and rounding out the bindery are two POLAR cutters and a Stahlfolder. The shop uses Heidelberg Saphira Consumables for its platesetters and presses. “Our employees enjoy working with Heidelberg equipment,” Ackerman said. “And we enjoy working with our sales rep, Mike Pugh.”
