ThinPrint Launches Certification Program for Hardware Manufacturers

Wednesday 27. October 2010 - The new ThinPrint device certificate allows customers and channel partners to instantly recognize tested and approved devices with .print technology

ThinPrint, the leading provider of cloud printing solutions, today announced its certification program for OEM partners that have integrated the .print client into their devices. Only devices that pass a standardized test will receive the ThinPrint certificate of approval and will be listed as recommended devices on the ThinPrint website. This certification program provides existing and future customers, as well as channel partners, with a reliable information source when selecting suitable hardware.
For over a decade, hardware manufactures have been successfully integrating ThinPrint’s .print technology into their products. The embedded .print client allows manufacturers’ devices to receive bandwidth-optimized and highly compressed ThinPrint print data. Additional features, such as .print AutoConnect, allow easy mapping of client side configured printers in the session or on the print server. The .print Management Center enables centralized management of print queues belonging to all .print capable devices. All features included with the .print client, such as receiving SSL-encrypted print data, are detailed in the device certificate.
“An advantage for ThinPrint customers is the wide availability of our .print client for a variety of thin clients, printers and external print servers,” said Frank Hoffmann, director Strategic Relationships, ThinPrint AG. “With the new ThinPrint device certificate we now increase transparency in relation to the supported protocols and features. This helps our customers and partners in selecting the correct hardware for their projects.”
ThinPrint’s OEM partners include leading thin client and printer manufacturers, as well as manufacturers of internal I/O cards and external print servers. HP, Igel, Samsung, SEH, Silex, Wyse, and 10ZiG are the first manufacturers who have secured ThinPrint certification.
