Growth in Russia leads Canon Europe to strengthen sales operation
Tuesday 07. October 2008 - Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, today announced its intention to create a new locally based management organisation in Russia. This investment is in direct response to the demands of local customers and the sustained growth of Canons business in the region.
To support business development, the goals of the new management organisation will be to further improve customer experience and provide greater local support to businesses and consumers.
In a phased approach, the new Russian management team will be up and running by 2009. Planned developments in the Russian market will include a major warehouse facility in Moscow.
Canon Europe intends to make further investment in other markets in the region such as Ukraine and Kazakhstan in the near future.
Speaking in St Petersburg at a Canon customer exhibition, Forte, Rainer Fuehres, Head of Emerging Markets, Canon Europe, said “The outstanding success of the Canon business in the region and the demands of local customers has led to this reorganisation. Russia is rapidly becoming one of Canons most significant markets. It is already our largest market in EMEA for digital cameras and office personal products, and our fourth largest market, by total business, across the whole EMEA region. Our investment in the region is testament to our high ambitions for the future.”
