Thursday 27. October 2022 - Canon announces new additions to its Professional Print range: The flagship imagePRESS V1350 and the imagePRESS V900 series expand the existing portfolio. The latest evolution of the highly successful imagePRESS family sets new standards in productivity.

With technological enhancements that take performance to new levels while simplifying operation, the V-Series enables both commercial and in-house print service providers to meet their production challenges and satisfy customers’ demands for high-quality, dynamic print content in the shortest possible production time.
imagePRESS V1350: 135 pages per minute, up to 2.4 million A4 pages per month
imagePRESS V900 Series: 70, 80, 90 pages per minute, up to 500,000 A4 pages per month
Numerous technologies to optimise quality and productivity
High level of automation with ease of use
The imagePRESS V-Series is a powerful family of toner-based production presses that now offers an option for commercial and in-house print environments of all sizes and printing needs. It features an increased level of automation that makes it very user-friendly and offers a wealth of feeding and finishing options, as well as seamless integration with workflow solutions via PRISMAsync or EFI Fiery controllers. Alongside the imagePRESS V1000, which began shipping in June this year, the imagePRESS V1350 offers the highest print speed, productivity and durability of the imagePRESS family, while the imagePRESS V900, the production press for smaller print volumes, offers the widest range of applications that can be printed on a compact device. Robust and designed for sustainability, the series is engineered for continuous, reliable productivity, consistent and stable colour, and unbeatable front-to-back register accuracy.
The imagePRESS V1350 – best in class productivity
The flagship imagePRESS V1350 delivers exceptional performance and the highest productivity in its class of colour toner production printers. With a top speed of 135 pages per minute, it handles a monthly volume of up to 2.4 million A4 pages with a lifetime of 72 million A4 pages thanks to its industrial design. A vacuum feed mechanism, flatter paper transport path, advanced Print on Demand-Surface Rapid Fusing (POD-SURF) unit and integrated cooling system enable long, continuous, top-quality printing at high speed and without paper jams, allowing both commercial and in-house print service providers to handle even the most demanding jobs quickly and in long runs without compromise.
Offset-like quality is a given for the imagePRESS V1350 and is maintained from the first to the last sheet of every job, regardless of run length. The Multi-D.A.T. colour correction system automatically maintains colour stability even on continuous runs, with the built-in spectrophotometric in-line sensor automating precise colour matching when required. Designed for the production of high-value print applications such as brochures, leaflets, high-value mailings and cards, the imagePRESS V1350 offers the highest accuracy in its class for perfect-fit printing to within 0.5mm thanks to its advanced registration technologies.
The imagePRESS V1350 supports the widest media weight range in its press class, from 60gsm to 500gsm, and a wide range of paper types including embossed and synthetic papers. The system also offers full compatibility with Canon’s extensive range of inline finishing equipment and leading technology partners. This enables print providers to offer their customers digital print runs of any size for a wide range of print products.
The imagePRESS V900 Series – a short-run production printer
As the entry-level model in the V-Series, the imagePRESS V900 Series is ideal for a monthly print volume of up to 500,000 A4 pages. Three different models are available: the V900, V800 and V700, with maximum speeds of 90, 80 and 70 pages per minute respectively. All three are designed for fast-paced production environments where consistent quality, productivity and media selection are required day after day.
As well as being the most compact device in the family, the imagePRESS V900 Series offers a class-leading variety of applications printable on a small device thanks to the media it supports – from 52gsm plain paper and 70gsm coated paper to 350gsm thick stock, narrow envelopes, as well as 762mm auto-duplex and 1,300mm simplex banners, embossed and synthetic paper. This versatility is supported by the latest vacuum technology, which adjusts the suction force to the paper weight, stabilising the transport of thick paper. Added to this are feed rollers and reinforced transport rollers that improve transport stability for thin, thick and short paper, expanding the range of media that can be used and preventing paper jams.
New time- and labour-saving automation features make operation almost “foolproof”, so highly skilled operators are not required for the system.
To ensure high quality even on textured media, the optional Duplex Colour Image Reader Unit quickly adjusts colour gradation, ink density and secondary transfer voltage before printing. It also performs perfecting with an impressive accuracy of 0.8 mm. Users simply feed the printed adjustment cards through the automatic document feeder, which is part of the Duplex Colour Image Reader Unit. The imagePRESS V900 Series then automatically makes the necessary adjustments. Other time-saving features of the imagePRESS V900 Series include remote visual alerts that notify the operator when consumables are running low.
Laura Hennigfeld, Manager Production Marketing at Canon Germany, says: “The addition of the imagePRESS V1350 and imagePRESS V900 Series to our imagePRESS V-Series range enables both commercial and in-house print service providers to work better, faster and with more options to deliver more high-quality print products to their customers. Built on powerful and proven patented technology, the imagePRESS V-Series was developed based on customer feedback. It offers a new perspective on the design of digital toner-based printing systems, making it a reliable solution for print service providers producing a wide range of jobs on a single press. The series offers more automated features, a wide range of feeding and finishing options and easy workflow integration.”
The imagePRESS V series features controls to maintain real-time colour consistency and is available with options such as the Sensor Unit and Inspection Unit to further automate quality control tasks.
The new imagePRESS V1350 will be available from Canon and accredited partners in the first half of next year, with the imagePRESS V900 series available from December 2022.
