ProPrint Group doubles digital offering with Truepress L350 SAI S

Thursday 23. December 2021 - Midlands label specialist ProPrint Group chose the Screen Truepress L350 SAI S to serve growing customer demand for self-adhesive premium digital label printing and achieve even more flexibility for customers with new label applications.

Investment driven by customer appetite for premium digital label printing
The Screen Truepress L350 SAI S investment has doubled ProPrint Group’s digital label printing capacity. The machine’s exceptional print speed is one of the main reasons company owners and directors James Denny and Nigel Tollman chose the L350 SAI S.
“Thanks to this machine being so compact and efficient, we doubled our production speed to up to 60 metres per minute and reduced material waste by 30 percent. We now have the resources to meet growing customer demand for high-end products in cosmetics and drinks, with first-class lead times”, says Denny. ProPrint Group has shown significant growth in recent months, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing its customer base by 29 percent and resulting in a revenue growth of 8 percent.
The Japanese word sai means ‘colourful’, and the SCREEN SAI series was developed to help printers produce in blue and orange inkjet modules along with CMYK, and an excellent opaque white.
James Denny: “The surface material can be exposed to an electrical discharge, or ‘corona’, which enhances ink adhesion to non-top coated filmic materials and improves adhesion when overprinting pre-foiled or printed insetted materials. The insetting or mark sensor option, the chill drum and the automated connectivity to a management information system (MIS) further enhance production capability when using the UV inkjet digital label press.”
ProPrint Group’s decision to invest in the Truepress Jet L350UV SAI S was not just based on the quality engineering behind the press. The group has also signed up to SCREEN’s gold standard warranty and service offering. “This high-quality support and reliability guarantee will ensure that the best interests of both ProPrint Group and its customers will be well looked after,” says Tollman.
ProPrint Group is a privately owned packaging company established in 2015 when James Denny and Nigel Tollman merged two successful print companies, ‘CopyPol’ and ‘Promo Labels’. The group operates from its 47,000 ft² premises in the English Midlands and has 110 employees. ProPrint Group’s expected turnover for 2021 is £15.8 million. A further £4m investment is scheduled for book year 2021-2022, increasing site capacity by 33,000 ft².
