The Print Show going from strength to strength says Morgana, as it prepares to set sail on Thames cruise

Friday 02. March 2018 - The Print Show has announced details of a special open day on April 11th that will allow guests that include exhibitors current and prospective, as well as the trade press and industry bodies, to take in some of Londons most famous landmarks and find out more about what is in store at this years exhibition.

Now in its fourth year, The Print Show will take place at the NEC in Birmingham from September 18th to 20th. Interest in the event is already high and sales of stand space are up 20 percent year-on-year as some of the industry’s leading names seek to secure their spot at the UK’s leading national trade exhibition for the commercial print industry.
The Print Show will set sail down London’s River Thames at a special event that will feature input from the organising team, as well as talks from financial experts on how to best prepare for Brexit.
Guests will be treated to a cruise down the Thames past some of London’s most famous landmarks, including St Paul’s, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the Cutty Sark, HMS Belfast, and the O2 Arena.
Meanwhile, organisers of The Print Show have announced a raft of new signings for this year’s event. With a number of major brands already on board for 2018, including the likes of HP, Vivid Laminating, Hybrid Services (Mimaki), CMYUK, Renz and Premier Paper, the exhibitor list now features a number of new names.
On board will be a barbecue buffet and drinks reception to enjoy in the spring sunshine, before expert speakers address guests about some of the key talking points in the current market. Afterwards, all guests will be able to enjoy the networking portion of the event, where they can enjoy further conversation and drinks until the cruise docks at 17:00.
Chris Davies, event director for The Print Show, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to meet with companies that have already signed up to the show, as well as those that are also interested in exhibiting and are keen to find out more about what they can expect from attending.
“We are also looking forward to meeting with members of the industry press, trade associations, and industry-focused support bodies so that we can pass on more information about our plans for the show, including the various special areas that will feature and a number of campaigns that we will be running in the lead-up to the event.”
Interest peaks as big-hitters continue to commit
Looking to the progress of The Print Show, the most recent crop of exhibitors include Morgana Systems, KAS Paper Systems, Spandex, Atlantic Tech Services, Opus, Simply Print Finishing, Peleman Industries (Formerly Unibind), Ribbon Print, Packaids, and Punchbind. An up-to-date floorplan and exhibitor list are available to view on The Print Show website.
“It’s fantastic to have had so many companies sign up in the space of just a few short weeks,” Davies said. He added: “The floorplan for the 2018 show is almost half full and we are looking forward to announcing further new signings in the near future.”
Morgana has been an ever-present at the event since its launch in 2015 and will once again be in attendance again this year to showcase its latest finishing kit to visitors.
Commenting on the decision to attend the event, Ray Hillhouse, vice-president offline business at Morgana, said: “The Print Show continues to go from strength to strength. It has put itself firmly on the exhibition map for the UK’s printing industry, and we are delighted that it is returning this year to the NEC.
“Attendance for the first three years of The Print Show has been very good indeed. We look forward to welcoming even more print companies along to the NEC.
“The marketing of the event has been very thorough to date, so we are looking forward to another successful exhibition where we will be showing our new range of products for 2018.”
Tsol Keoshgerian, chief executive of Peleman Industries, previously known as Unibind, spoke positively about exhibiting at The Print Show this year, citing encouraging feedback from friends and colleagues in the industry as one of the main reasons behind signing up.
Keoshgerian said: “The feedback I have had from friends within print is that The Print Show is now the principal UK trade show for our industry and thus a must for Peleman Industries to attend as exhibitors.
“We re-branded earlier this year. Everyone knows us as Unibind Systems, but we are much more than just a binding company. Peleman Industries is an innovative engineering company with solutions to print finishing. The Print Show is our opportunity to showcase these products.”
Keoshgerian also offered an insight into what we can expect from the company at the event in September: “Doubtless we will showcase the Unifoil Printer, our very successful digital foiler, as well as desktop case making solutions.
“However, the star attraction will be the UK launch of the V-Paper Tower, which ensures that every single sheet of documents of any size— ranging from short presentations to thicker reports—lays flat. The V-Paper Tower twists a double-fold near the edge of every sheet, which can then be bound together with triple staples, perfect binding machines or thermal binding systems.”
