The Print Show flying high ahead of International Centre open day

Thursday 24. November 2016 - Visitors set to experience helicopter flight over the ‘Birthplace of Industry’

The Print Show will this month stage a special open day at The International Centre in Telford to show off the facility that will host the 2017 edition of the event and its co-located event SignLink Live.

More than 70 businesses have registered to attend the event on November 30th, to find out more about both shows’ plans for 2017 and use it as the first opportunity to snare their floor space as organisers officially open for business.

Those who attend will also be treated to an aerial tour, via helicopter, of the surrounding countryside and venue, with the tours taking off from the International Centre’s car park. With space now limited, those who still wish to register are asked to do so by e-mailing Nicky@theprintshow.co.uk.

Show organisers have also revealed that the event will see it roll-out its array of special educational content that will be run at the 2017 shows, in addition to a range of special benefits to visitors and exhibitors.

“For visitors, the added attractions for 2017 will include a free lunch and refreshments with their complimentary show ticket (available at our purpose-designed CMYK Café), free parking, shuttle links to and from Telford Central Railway Station, access to a free networking and entertainment complex, and of course entry into the annual Golden Ticket Prize Draw,” explains Chris Davies, event director for The Print Show and SignLink Live.

He continues: “For all exhibitors there will be a 50 percent power subsidy based on last year’s costs to increase the density of equipment on show, lifting logistics support for equipment suppliers and manufacturers, and free catering for all exhibition staff. Of course, there is also the massive added attraction of exhibiting at one of the shows, whilst benefiting from a new customer demographic visiting the other co-located exhibition.”

Organisers will also reveal at the open day details of the special educational content running at both shows.

For The Print Show, this will include an expanded Business Seminar Theatre programme, a new line-up for The Software Training Theatre—which will see Adobe expand its specialised training seminar—a host of new master printers showcasing the development of letter press printing through the history of the UK print industry at The Traditional Print Masterclasses, and a brand new business diversification line-up for the much celebrated Printers’ Bazaar.

For SignLink Live, the details of a brand-new range of features will also be unveiled. These include The Profit Factory—showcasing ‘businesses in a box’ for sign and graphics professionals to move into, Craftsman’s Corner—an area dedicated to traditional sign-making skills, a comprehensive Business Seminar Theatre Programme, its own Software Training Theatre specialising in CAD/CAM design systems, The Sign-Maker’s Sinkhole pub inside the show for networking, The Swap Shop to showcase the very latest in special effects vinyl media, and For The Love of Neon—paying homage to this historic medium.

Those in attendance at the open day will be treated to a VIP tour of the facility, with experts from the International Centre to speak about the benefits of exhibiting at events that are staged at the venue, as well as a look at the halls where The Print Show 2017 will take place.

Telford’s International Centre is located in the heart of the Midlands and is easily accessible via car and public transport. The venue features over 15,000sq m of event space, which is complemented by a network of on-site food and beverage outlets.

Near to the venue is the pedestrianised ‘Convention Quarter’, the centrepiece of a £250m development, which features a brand new hotel, a host of restaurants and bars, as well as an IMAX cinema and other leisure facilities including bowling and ice skating. The area is located next to Telford Shopping Centre, a prime retail destination for those in the surrounding areas that features many major brands such as Apple, Debenhams and House of Fraser.

As mentioned previously, visitors at the open day will have the opportunity to get a birds-eye view of the venue and its surrounding facilities by taking to the skies in a helicopter, which will take them on a tour above Telford—known as the ‘Birthplace of Industry’—before landing in the free-of-charge International Centre car park.

Those that opt to stay the night in Telford will be treated to a complementary hotel stay as well as a food and drinks reception at the International Centre.

Davies adds: “The day is all about giving those companies that have supported the show the chance to see our vision for next year’s event. The 2017 show will be third edition of what is becoming the UK’s must-attend annual print industry event, and we are very excited about what we can achieve next year and moving forward with SignLink Live.

“The International Centre is a fantastic venue, not just for what is on the inside, but also the surrounding areas. There aren’t many venues in the UK that are able to offer as much as the International Centre in terms of supporting facilities, and this will really benefit exhibitors and visitors next year.”
