Ricoh first to release latest MicroPress to market

Monday 01. June 2009 - Showcases at PacPrint alongside Digital StoreFront & Command WorkStation 5

Those wanting the latest in cutting edge productivity can rest easy, with Ricoh announcing it is now offering the latest range of products from EFI, including the new release of MicroPress V8 – the first production industry player in Australia to do so.
EFI MicroPress V8 addresses the needs of the mid to high volume print-on-demand market by providing a raster-based digital document production system that can efficiently produce complex, short-run, colour or black & white documents.
“MicroPress comes from a true black and white production workflow background and that is still its overall strength,” explained Kathy Wilson, General Manager of Production and Business Solutions for Ricoh Australia. “Version 8 of MicroPress takes those tools even further into colour production.”
“This makes MicroPress V8 well suited to both our new range of black and white engines – the Pro 907/1107/1357EX – and the Pro C900, Ricoh’s first colour high volume engine”, Wilson stated. “MicroPress V8 is being launched in conjunction with our new black and white devices to leverage their speed and efficiency with powerful production workflow tools and amazing image quality output.”
EFI MicroPress V8 is designed for high-speed, high-production colour and black & white printing environments requiring maximum colour throughput, accurate colour reproduction, tight colour control and manageable colour consistency.
“The fact that we can offer this first in Australia further demonstrates our ability to consistently deliver the latest technology, software and hardware, to the production market,” added Wilson. “We have the complete offering – great engines and solutions – as well as an experienced, passionate team that brings it all together to offer clients superior service.”
Added functionality with EFI Digital StoreFront and EFI Command WorkStation
Another solution to be launched by Ricoh this week is the latest version of EFI Digital StoreFront, a customisable internet-based shopping and communication based platform. The upgraded version now offers improved, enhanced dynamic document preview, storefront customisation, inventory stock control and greatly improved integration with other EFI solutions and third-party products.
Another solution, which is offered free to all Ricoh customers, is EFI Command WorkStation 5. Command WorkStation is the Fiery user interface that offers exceptional productivity and flexibility while remaining simple to use. With Command WorkStation 5, printers can enjoy integrated job management and job preparation controls, while remaining highly adaptive to various styles of environments.
“We have partnered with EFI to offer Australia the strongest solutions range that incorporates a seamless environment within the print room setting. This is all part of Ricoh’s strategy to offer a fully integrated line of products, services and solutions,” Wilson said.
EFI MicroPress V8, Digital StoreFront V4 and Command WorkStation 5 will be available for demonstration at PacPrint on Ricoh’s stand (R30), along with the latest range of complementary production software, including RSA RDO Print and a variety of customisable VDP solutions.
