Ricoh’s inline ring binder offers innovation

Tuesday 30. December 2008 - Ricoh Australia has launched the industry’s first fully automated ring binder in a move that will set a new industry standard. Its innovative technology drastically cuts down the traditional workload of finishing documents by automatically punching and binding booklets.

“At a time when the printing industry is facing reduced revenues, the inline ring binder will help free up staff to get on with other jobs. You can let the device do all the work,” said Mark Katrakis, National Sales Manager – High Volume, Ricoh Australia.
The inline ring binder allows print jobs to be sent to print and forgotten. The user simply presses a few buttons and the job will be printed, finished and bound with no manual labour or intervention.
“Ricoh’s mission is to help our customers work better, more efficiently. This feature is an example of how we’re doing just that,” Katrakis added.
Features
The inline ring binder offers a binding capacity of 50 or 100 A4 pages on paper up to 216 gsm. It can print up to 55 booklets per hour for a 50 page booklet, or 30 booklets per hour for a 100 page booklet. Rings are available in two sizes and two colours.
Availability
The inline ring binder is an option on the company’s newly launched Pro range of printers. It’s currently available with the Pro 906EX, Pro 1106EX and Pro 1356EX. It will also be compatible with the new Pro C900 colour engine.
