Tuesday 24. February 2009 - Nipson Digital Printing Systems PLC (‘Nipson’) today announces that it has chosen the Hunkeler innovationdays 2009, a bi-annual event attracting some of the most prominent players in the printing industry, to launch a new digital printing system.

Nipson has a long-standing partnership with Hunkeler, providing integrated total solutions. The new press will be demonstrated as part of an integrated solution combining Nipson’s printing technology and Hunkeler finishing equipment.

“We will be showcasing a new digital press, based on Nipson’s unique and proven magnetographic imaging technology and cold flash fusing process,” explains Marketing Communications Manager Martine Berger, “This new press comes with several technical improvements to the print heads and drum, which will further benefit process consistency. It has also been equipped with a new paper cleaning station.”

“As for the applications, we will be demonstrating a selection of transactional and security printing applications that will appeal to the most discerning print buyer. These will be chosen such that they will amply illustrate the unique features of our new press in terms of quality, flexibility, and reliability.”

Full details of the new press will be revealed at the Innovation Days. One detail that will not be kept until the launch, however, is the fact that Nipson has taken the opportunity to create a new look, symbolic of the company’s fresh start following a period of financial uncertainty. Last year, through a debt-for-equity swap, Creacorp NV, a private Belgian company, acquired a majority stake in Nipson in order to secure the group’s future. In addition, a restructuring plan was initiated at the end of the year. “Today, Nipson is set for a new course,” says Guillaume Dumarey, Managing Director of Nipson, “We believe the Hunkeler innovationdays is one of the most important events in our industry and so we are honored to have been invited. Not only will it allow us to demonstrate our latest innovations, it is also a perfect opportunity to show clients and prospects that we are stronger and more determined than ever, and that the company has what it takes to succeed.”

The Hunkeler innovationdays 2009 are staged in the Allmend Exhibition Center in Lucerne from Monday February, 16 until Thursday February, 19. Visitors to the event can discover the new Nipson press at the company’s booth in Hall 1 where staff will be at hand to demonstrate and explain the latest developments and to provide further information about Nipson’s printing solutions.
