Fujifilm helps Noel Tatt and Impress Publishing improve their digital output with Xerox 700

Studio manager at Noel Tatt, John Cox

Tuesday 09. December 2008 - Fujifilm today announces that Noel Tatt, suppliers of greeting cards for all occasions, and Impress Publishing, a leading supplier of Christmas cards and printed products to the charity market, have installed a Xerox 700 in their Canterbury premises.

Alongside the Xerox 700, the companies have also invested in an EFI RIP and graphic arts package to provide consistent colour management throughout.

Studio manager, John Cox, comments: “We already had a digital press on site but we used it mainly for smaller, in house jobs. When we started offering digital print to our customer base, we realised that our digital press wasn’t quick enough and also we were facing a few issues with curling. We were looking for a quicker, more consistent machine to improve our productivity and quality, as well as the ability to offer personalised print. The Xerox 700 met all these criteria at a reasonable price too.

“With the new press, we’re achieving tighter registration and the feeder and stacker trays ensure we can leave a job to run unattended. The on-board de-curler means that the end results come out absolutely flat, which is unique for this level of digital press, and the graphic arts package provides consistent colour management throughout.

“We’re also considering XMPie software to provide variable-data for digital print output as well. Many of our charity customers look to us for advice on economical but creative printing and the XMPie software with the Xerox 700 would allow us to offer extremely creative, personalised print jobs as and when required.”

Graham Leeson, Fujifilm’s marketing manager, comments: “We’re delighted to have been able to make such a difference to Noel Tatt and Impress Printing with the installation of the digital solution. Again, it goes to show the huge opportunities that are out there for printers who are willing to diversify their offering in order to meet and anticipate customer demand for various print solutions.”

The Xerox 700 is aimed at the production of photo books, brochures, direct mail pieces, catalogues, calendars and postcards. It can output at speeds of up to 70ppm in both colour and mono production and on stock weights ranging between 64gsm-300gsm.
