Canon Launches New Low-Volume Production Scanner for the Busy and Versatile Office Market
Thursday 20. November 2008 - Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, has today announced the launch of the Canon imageFORMULA DR-7090C scanner, a successor model to the DR-7080C. The new device provides versatile, high-speed duplex scanning to busy office environments within medium-sized businesses that need to scan high-volumes of mixed documents every day.

Flexibility is at the heart of the new imageFORMULA DR-7090C. A high-speed A3 flatbed scanning unit enables users to efficiently scan bound and poor quality or damaged documents. The scanner also incorporates a 100 page, single path duplex automatic document feeder (ADF) that can process at up to 70 pages per minute (ppm). Such robust automated scanning is particularly useful for organisations that have long scan runs and want to maximise their productivity.
The DR-7090C makes scanning jobs simple and productive, with users able to assign up to 99 different scanning tasks through the user-friendly Job Registration Tool. At a touch of a button, documents can be scanned and delivered to a variety of destinations including shared folders, e-mail and printers, in a number of formats, such as TIFF and searchable PDF.
The DR-7090C marks a significant improvement in image quality thanks to its enhanced image processing features. The scanner automatically compensates and enhances the scanned image to produce near perfect image quality – even when the source document features characters and content which is poor in quality and hard to read.
