Harmony Press Completes Shop Integration with Prepress, Workflow Solutions from Heidelberg

Friday 07. November 2008 - After the successful installations of a Speedmaster CD 74 press and Stitchmaster ST 350 saddlestitcher earlier this year, Harmony Press in Easton, Pa. has completed its transformation to an all-Heidelberg shop with the latest additions of a Suprasetter 74 platesetter with multi-cassette loader (MCL) and Prinect prepress system.

“Our shop is now completely integrated and our productivity has skyrocketed,” said General Manager Gary Male. “On a 10-hour shift recently, we produced more than 200 plates on the new platesetter – it’s absolutely fantastic.” The Prinect remote access feature has been especially popular. “Our customers have the ability to directly access the production data of their jobs via the Web,” Male said. “We are beta testing this feature with two customers now, and are anxious to provide remote access to all of our customers as soon as possible.” Harmony Press uses all Heidelberg Saphira Consumables, from plates to fountain solutions. The company recently celebrated its successes with a customer open house to show off its suite of Heidelberg technologies. Harmony Press customers range from universities to corporations and advertising and graphic arts agencies to publications. The company was founded in 1947 and currently has approximately 45 full-time employees.
