FUJIFILM Advances Wide Format Offerings

Thursday 06. November 2008 - New flatbed inkjet and roll-fed printers make speedy debut

FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. will introduce several wide format devices and technologies at this year’s Graph Expo, including a new flatbed inkjet device as well as a high-quality roll fed machine. Wide format represents the fastest growing segment of the printing industry and customers are seeing significant advantages in being able to add to their roster of capabilities. Fujifilm’s new product introductions represent the newest available technologies and are designed to meet the needs of customers who already offer – and who are planning to offer – wide format services.

Fujifilm will feature the Acuity Advance, a new version of the company’s already successful flatbed inkjet printer. The Acuity Advance is 40 percent faster than previous models, delivering up to 236 sq. ft. per hour. The Acuity Advance now also features the next generation of print heads and firmware and an optional white ink, opening up additional opportunities in the packaging and flexographic industries.

In addition to the Acuity Advance, FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. will also showcase the new Truepress Jet 2500UV from Screen and the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000. The Screen Truepress Jet 2500UV is a high-productivity hybrid UV printer that can handle rigid or roll material at speeds up to 700 sq. ft. per hour and still output incredible quality. It’s available in four-, six- and seven-color configurations, including white.

The Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 is Epson’s first entry into display graphics and will be a successful venture. With its eight-color (CMYKLcLm + Green and Orange), large format printer designed to produce both indoor and outdoor materials is geared for high-end/high-quality projects. The Stylus Pro GS6000 can easily switch among a range of coated and uncoated substrates, making it an amazingly flexible solution.

Lastly, Fujifilm will debut its Excellight backlit substrate, a remarkable printing media with both day and night properties, meaning the color and quality will remain consistent whether it’s lit from the front or the back. The substrate is of a very high quality and is compatible with both UV and solvent inks.

These solutions will be running live and on display under the Wide Format banner at the Fujifilm booth throughout Graph Expo 2008.
