Thursday 31. July 2008 - OYSTAR Erca-Formseal Striving for Pole Position
OYSTAR Erca-Formseal has a new Managing Director since May 1, 2008: Jean-Guy Delage. In the new management team, Dominique Schwab has assumed the position of Deputy General Manager. Jean-Guy Delage also holds the newly created position of head of the groups Dairy Division. “OYSTAR. The Process & Packaging Group”, is one of the worlds leading suppliers of packaging machines, systems and technologies for nonliquid dairy products.
Jean-Guy Delage, 49, began his professional career 25 years ago. Most recently he was vice president for global sales and development at Sidel France (a company of the Tetra-Laval Group), one of the largest companies worldwide specialized in packaging liquid products. While there he headed the international business develop-ment activities of that companys blow molding and coating product division.
After completing a degree in mechanical engineering at the Brest Institute of Technology, Delage went to work for Meunier, a French builder of industrial systems. Later he assumed management responsibilities at Sidel. Between 1988 and 1998 Delage was in charge of the business development activities and global sales process of Sidel USA, also serving as its managing director from 1994 on.
“I want to drive the OYSTAR form, fill, and seal activities to the pole position, as well as the companies of OYSTAR Erca-Formseal and OYSTAR Hassia in their segment of the global market and keep them there,” says Delage about one of his main goals. “As I see it, one of the most important prerequisites for achieving this is to consistently penetrate the market with product innovations and new technologies.”
Delage now also heads the Groups newly formed Dairy Division, which besides OYSTAR Erca-Formseal comprises the companies of OYSTAR Hassia, OYSTAR Hamba, OYSTAR Gasti, OYSTAR Benhil and OYSTAR A+F. Worldwide all of the OYSTAR companies serving the dairy industry most recently generated annual sales of about 200 million euros. A newly created Dairy Division Business Committee consisting of the five companies managing directors will support Delage and the OYSTAR Holding in implementing a common development strategy. There are plans to optimize and expand the divisions shared sales platform. In addition, the business committee will help intensify cooperation with the OYSTAR Groups Pharma Division, which was also recently established and consists of three companies: OYSTAR IWK, OYSTAR Hüttlin and OYSTAR Manesty.
“Jean-Guy Delages thorough familiarity with the packaging machine sector and his experience in global sales management made him the ideal candidate for this vacant position in the OYSTAR Group,” stated Wolf-Dieter Bauman, chairman of the management board of OYSTAR Holding.
