One of the biggest commercial web printers in Latin America, Editorial Primavera in Guarenas, Venezuela, has placed an order with KBA at Drupa for two 16-page Compacta 215s configured side by side with a cross link.

Primavera, which was founded 40 years ago by Armando De Armas Meléndez, has a fleet of six non-KBA web presses that are used to print supplements, periodicals and catalogues. The new press line will be the first KBA commercial press in Venezuela and the first duplex press in Latin America.
The two presses, one with four and the other with six double printing units, will be erected as mirror-image lines with Vits hot-air dryers plus one F3 gripper folder, one Vits sheeter and one UV coater apiece. They will be brought on line in spring 2009 and will primarily be used to print covers.
For Editorial Primavera in Guarenas, a town with 185,000 inhabitants approx. 30km (19m) from Caracas, this investment is one of the most ambitious in its history.
