Roland DG declares Sign and Digital UK 2008 a Complete Success

Thursday 15. May 2008 - Roland DG (UK), a leading worldwide provider of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters, today has confirmed Sign and Digital UK its most successful show to date.

Buyers’ interest in Roland DG equipment was such that all the machines on the company’s stand were sold by the end of the first day. Leads and sales for the show are being processed by Roland DG (UK) and its resellers. The final figure is expected to surpass the six-figure barrier by some margin.

Roland DG (UK) Managing Director, Jerry Davies, said: “The amount of interest in the Roland DG stand was very pleasing. All machines on the stand were sold through our network of partner dealers at the show. To have sold all the machines on our stand by the end of the first day was unexpected, but very welcome. We expect that Sign & Digital UK 2008 will be our most successful domestic exhibition to date with an unprecedented number of sales and leads taken at the show. The success is testament to the quality of our market leading wide format solutions, the Roland UK team and our newly established and growing network of premier reseller partners.”

Although the Roland DG (UK) stand featured its extensive product portfolio, the company’s overarching theme for the show was the spectrum of products and applications that can be produced using wide format technologies, ranging from posters and banners to printed leather shoes, blinds and even a baby grand piano, all adorned with prints from Roland equipment. Live vehicle wrapping demonstrations of a Mercedes SLK sports car by US-based specialist company Digital EFX Wraps also drew impressive crowds to the stand.

“The range of products that can be made with the right wide format equipment is limited only by one’s imagination. Printers and sign-makers aren’t just interested in a particular machine’s speeds and feeds, but also in the type of products and additional revenue opportunities they can offer. In many cases these products are extremely lucrative, making the investment in wide format a very attractive proposition,” added Davies.
