ROLAND DG TO DEMONSTRATE ITS INNOVATIVE, HIGH QUALITY LARGE FORMAT TECHNOLOGIES AT DRUPA 2008

Thursday 20. March 2008 - Roland DG is set to display its portfolio of innovative, market-leading large format printers and integrated printer/cutters used to produce high quality indoor and outdoor graphics, at drupa 2008, which takes place in Dusseldorf from May 29th to June 11th 2008. The company, located in hall five on booth B37, will introduce a new, innovative printing solution, which heralds Roland DG's entrance into new market segments.

drupa also gives Roland DG the opportunity to demonstrate applications and solutions for a range of markets and prove how its proprietary hardware, software and inks combine to deliver efficiencies that give its customers a competitive advantage. Along with the new technology, Roland DG’s 111m” booth will feature the latest in the world’s best-selling series of printer/cutters, the VersaCAMM VP-300/540 and the newest models in the SolJet Pro III series including the XC-540, XC-540W and the XJ-640, as well as the AdvancedJet AJ-740.
With these machines, sign makers are able to produce high quality decals, vehicle graphics, banners, posters and billboards. Industrial clients will receive demonstrations of proofing, short-run labels and prototyping, while canvas and photo printing will be of interest to fine art printers.

As Roland DG manufactures all its wide format technologies, hardware, software and ink, drupa gives it the opportunity to show how these, when used in conjunction, can deliver a performance that’s greater than the sum of the parts.
This is illustrated by Roland’s Intelligent Pass Control, which is a combination of Roland’s VersaWorks RIP software and printer firmware that can drastically improve the XC-540’s quality, even in higher speed modes. Roland DG’s Intelligent Pass Control also precisely controls dot placement to enhance print quality in every print mode by creating even smoother gradations and flawless solid colours.

Experts from Roland DG will also be on hand to explain the levels of service and support that are available to customers. Roland DG offers training opportunities all over Europe. For example, Roland DG runs the largest, industry-accredited sign, engraving and large format education facility in Europe from a purpose built facility at Walsall College in the UK. The company organises trainings in Belgium, Germany, Italy and other countries as well. Another illustration of customer support that Roland DG will showcase at drupa is its Value-Up initiative, which was launched in February 2008. This allows users of the XC-540 printer/cutter to download the latest software and firmware upgrades without charge. Registered customers also receive the newest media flanges for free.
