Fujifilm announces successful year end

Thursday 01. May 2008 - • Graphic Arts business up a strong 7 per cent

Fujifilm today announces its year end figures. Globally the company has shown an increase in revenue of 2.3 per cent compared to the 2007 results, taking revenue figures up to £13.9 billion*. Fujifilm is showing an operating income that has increased by 203 per cent, from £168 million in 2007 to £510.3 million in 2008, largely a result of Fujifilm’s VISION 75 Management Plan.

Worldwide, Fujifilm’s Graphic Arts business has seen a 7 per cent increase in revenue, from £1.4 billion in 2007 to £1.52 billion in 2008. The performance of Fujifilm Graphic Systems in the UK exceeded this, in terms of both volume and sales revenue, achieving a double digit increase in revenue during 2008.

Keith Dalton, director at Fujifilm, comments: “Our continued success both globally and here in the UK is evidence of the strength of our products and the ever-increasing R&D investments we make to ensure that our products remain the best in the industry. Yet again, we’ve outperformed our closest competitors and extended our position as market leader.

“With the planned expansion of our plate line at our European facility in Tilburg, Fuji is building on an excellent platform for increased future growth, even in a difficult market. We have the strongest portfolio of plate products in the industry, and our success reflects this position. With the introduction of the violet chemistry-free plate, Brillia HD PRO-V coming on stream, our XMF workflow and the introduction of new inkjet products at Drupa 2008, we are going from strength to strength.”
