Fujifilm’s new green logo for PRO-T users

Fujifilm’s new green logo for PRO-T users

Thursday 10. January 2008 - Fujifilm has today announced the availability of a distinctive logo for printers to use on work that has been printed using Fujifilm’s Brillia HD PRO-T thermal processless plate.

Graham Leeson, marketing manager at Fujifilm Graphics Systems UK, says: “We now have over 150 printers using the PRO-T plate in the UK. Many of them have cited environmental benefits, such as reduced water and energy usage and a reduction in waste, as some of the main reasons behind the switch to PRO-T.

“More than ever before, print buyers look for a tick in the ‘environmental credentials’ box when choosing a print supplier. This new logo allows PRO-T customers to demonstrate the environmental steps they have taken within plate production, to sit alongside any other green accreditations they might already have.”

Fuji has performed an extensive Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) of PRO-T, which reveals that not only does PRO-T account for less CO2 in its raw material extraction than processed alternatives, but it produces far less in use. Because it does not require processing, PRO-T produces only 18g of CO2 per square metre of press- ready plate compared to 246g for a processed plate.

Fujifilm’s ‘Printed with PRO-T’ logo is available for all PRO-T users from January 2008.
