Fujifilm announces the Acuity HD 2504

Acuity HD 2504

Friday 22. February 2008 - • High-definition UV flatbed printer • Latest wide-format UV digital imaging technology

Fujifilm extends its inkjet product range with the introduction of the Acuity HD 2504. The Acuity HD 2504 uses the latest wide-format UV digital imaging technology and is specifically designed for print applications requiring the finest detail and highest image quality.

Central to the Acuity HD 2504 is a new imaging technology that enables each print head to produce variable size dots as opposed to traditional fixed-size droplets. The printer’s ability to jet droplets as fine as 6 picolitres produces sharp, precise images with smoother transitions throughout the tonal range: while jetting larger droplets up to 42 picolitres delivers denser, more uniform solid image areas. The result is market leading print quality with crisper, more legible type (as low as 6 pt), smoother skin tones, finer line detail, and the best solid colour coverage of any printer in its class. In addition, variable drop technology uses up to 35 per cent less ink than fixed droplet, six colour printers.

The Acuity HD 2504 delivers both rigid and flexible point-of-purchase sign and display graphics that hold up visually, even at extremely close viewing. The Acuity HD 2504 flatbed design employs a zoned vacuum table to hold all types of media, including irregularly shaped materials. The vacuum table holds the media stationary while printing, which ensures accurate registration, even on multiple passes. Additionally, the Acuity HD 2504 automatically skips large unprinted areas, increasing printer speed and prints edge-to-edge, saving time and labour in finishing.

Using FUJIFILM Sericol’s Uvijet series inks with Micro-V ultrafine dispersion technology to maximise pigment loading, the Acuity HD2504 offers an optimised print performance. The environmentally-friendly Uvijet range of UV curing inks delivers strong, vibrant, lightfast colours and has been specially formulated for the Acuity HD 2504 printer. The inks also offer excellent chemical and abrasion resistance, exceptional adhesion and are suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

FUJIFILM Sericol’s Uvijet inks are packed conveniently in two-litre ‘plug & print’ ink bags to simplify ink changes – the ink change system takes only seconds to complete with minimum waste and operator intervention. The ink system includes an intelligent sensor to alert the operator of ink change requirements before actually running out. It also ensures correct ink colour installation.
