In a still challenging market environment, Axel Springer AG achieved according to preliminary figures earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of 102.4 million euro during the third quarter of the financial year 2009 which is 10.5% above the EBITDA of 92.7 million euro reached during the same period of the previous year. However, with 264.7 million euro the preliminary EBITDA for the first nine months of the financial year 2009 was below the EBITDA of 306.6 million euro reached during the same period of the previous year.
