Continental Grafix with the first approval for the window film triple

Wednesday 17. October 2012 - Uncertainty in transport services is over

For over two years, there is a heated debate about advertising with window film on busses and trains whether on emergency exits or on windows with scratch protection film. Everywhere in Germany there is uncertainty. Films were partly demolished or even buses must stay in the depot. Continental Grafix was introduced in a working group headed by the German TÜV Rheinland with participation of the Ministry of Transport of Germany, in order to achieve an amendment in the approval process and clarty in the implementation of advertising in traffic and transit. Now there are successful news.
After extensive discussion and live testing, which Continental Grafix did with the help of the BVG Berlin, Solutia Performance Films and Werbetechnik Bunke in Falkensee, the objections to apply window film on security exit windows were resolved very quickly. Remained only the discussion about the adhesion of a so-called triple – scratch protection film inside and window foil with laminate outside. Here is Continental Grafix gone together with the scratch protection film manufacturer Solutia to launch the initiative for the first time ever to register such a bundle for release.
The tests, which were conducted by the Material Testing Institute, were it passed with excellent marks. Now Continental Grafix was just waiting for the approval from the Federal Motor Transport Authority, which has dragged on until September.
Today we can announce that Continental Grafix can offer the first window film that is also allowed with a scratch protection film in the interior. Together with the company Solutia, the ABG D-5453 for panoRama window foil in conjunction with the laminate panoRama Cast was now extended with a scratch protection film.
This is the world’s first certification of its kind and proves once again the high quality of the films. Moreover, it is balm for the soul of many bus and transport companies in which the TÜV has threatened in recent months with decommissioning and sometimes films were removed. Finally there is a legal security for many applications in the transport advertising. This security is now available in Germany and perhaps soon in Europe.
