DirectSmile to demonstrate the future of 1-2-1 marketing at IPEX 2010
Monday 22. February 2010 - Printers and marketers utilise DirectSmile Cross Media to increase campaign response rates
Leading supplier of variable data printing and cross media marketing software, DirectSmile, will demonstrate its full portfolio of creative solutions designed to increase marketing response rates and customer retention on its stand (Hall: 12, Stand: B110) at IPEX 2010, 18 – 25 May, at the NEC, Birmingham, UK.
Unveiled at the show will be a new DirectSmile product to help users of image personalisation, to increase sales from B2B and B2C markets. Utilising the increased demand for image personalised products for a wide variety of print and promotional products, the new DirectSmile solution provides users with a complete business package ‘out of the box’, facilitating sales of personalised content and providing greater end-customer engagement.
Building on the success of its image personalisation software, DirectSmile will show its market leading solution for variable data print, DirectSmile VDP Studio, now incorporating a new imposition tool. The company will also show DirectSmile Cross Media for producing and managing multimedia personalised marketing campaigns, and DirectSmile Online.
Franziska Müller, Marketing Director, DirectSmile comments, “We are very excited to be at IPEX as it presents us with the opportunity to demonstrate to European printers, how they can extend their offerings to provide personalised applications, consistently, across truly cross-media campaigns.
“In addition, we will show how DirectSmile Online enables buyers to incorporate image personalisation into existing applications, such as online-shops. We will also demonstrate new enhancements to existing solutions such as VDP Studio.”
DirectSmile VDP Studio enables documents with rule-driven variable content, to be easily created in Adobe InDesign layouts and then rendered using personalised images. The solution enables the output of print files in one data stream, making this process simple and efficient.
Other recent enhancements to DirectSmile VDP Studio have extended the product’s capabilities, including VBS Scripting for the production of more complex output such as calendars with variable dates. It also includes an output driver package for compatibility with any digital press and controller in PDF, PPML and JLYT formats, and the facility to generate and incorporate barcodes.
DirectSmile Cross Media enables users to optimise campaign effectiveness, by the utilisation of one integrated solution combining all media across the communication platforms of print, SMS, email and URL websites. The solution provides everything required for successful, targeted, interactive and measurable marketing campaigns – delivering increased response rates and customer data, for even more targeted follow-up.
Gary Peeling, Managing Director of UK-based Precision Printing explains, “Some of our customers are already using personalised emails and URLs as part of integrated marketing campaigns. While we were their preferred printer for this work, they had to enlist multiple agencies to complete the online part of the job. Now that we can provide personalised marketing materials in every format using DirectSmile Cross Media, these customers only need to deal with one point of contact. Having worked with us in the past, they know that they can expect a high-quality, reliable service from start to finish, with a new hi-tech marketing approach that routinely raises campaign success rates by about 30-50%.”
Franziska Müller concludes, “Visitors to the DirectSmile stand at IPEX will find solutions that not only help them to produce great products, but to also integrate our image technology into any existing online application. With additional tools to help customers promote and sell personalised items, DirectSmile is providing customers with a complete package, designed to drive the success and swift adoption of direct 1-2-1 marketing.”
