Offset Printing
Imcodavila and Graphic Web Systems B.V. have entered into an agreement for the start up of a new printing plant in Madrid
Tuesday 17. November 2009 - Imcodavila of Spain signed a contract for the supply of a 96 page newspaper press for full color printing of tabloid newspaper products to be installed in Madrid. The Spanish market shows a growing demand for printing capacity.
An increasing number of newspapers wish to outsource
part of their printing to external printers. Imcodavila will be able to
provide the required capacity to fulfill this demand. Owner and CEO of
Imcodavila Ricardo Delgado Suarez: “We strongly believe in a more
industrial approach of newspaper printing. We think this is the next
step in a consolidating market. Outsourcing of printing is a trend that
will continue on an international scale.”
The KBA Commander press consists of 6 satellite printing units, and is
configured to be extended with again 6 satellites when the demand for
independent production increases. Graphic Web Systems of the Netherlands
will supply and install the press. Imcodavila and GWS will seek
possibilities for further cooperation in a strategic alliance. Owner and
CEO of GWS, Willem Kok:”Together with Imcodavila we have the combination
of skills that put us in a position where we can play an active role in
this process of consolidation of newspaper printing.”
The press is scheduled to go in production in the 2nd quarter of 2010.
