Dominos Nautilus Laser Coding And Marking System Extends Companys Reach Into New Industrial Sectors
Wednesday 19. November 2008 - Solid-state laser solution suited to automotive, aircraft, electronic, tool and medical applications
As part of its broad product portfolio of primary, secondary and tertiary coding technologies on display at Emballage 2008, Domino Printing Sciences plc – a world-leader in total coding, marking, printing, traceability and RFID solutions – will showcase the leading-edge laser technology delivered by its Nautilus marking system. The versatile Nautilus solid-state laser technology complements Dominos existing CO2 range, following the recent acquisition of Photon Energy GmbH and its subsidiary, NWL Lasertechnologie GmbH.
Significantly, the addition of the Nautilus table-top marking system to Dominos laser coding range extends the companys reach into the automotive, aircraft, electronic, tool and medical sectors. As a compactly-designed, yet high quality solution, the proven technology of the Nautilus enables manufacturers to cost-effectively fulfil industrial laser coding and marking requirements, even at small production volumes.
In addition, the flexibility of the Nautilus system allows users to fulfil precise marking requirements on a host of both flat and shaped parts. Thanks to the superior beam quality delivered by the laser systems sophisticated design, users benefit from the capability to apply high-resolution batch codes, serial numbers or other data to a range of materials, including metal and plastic.
Further advantages are afforded by the Nautiluss in-built user-friendliness, thanks to the use of simple software and familiar PC interface. This simple set-up and operation guarantees operator intervention is minimised, thereby ensuring the Nautilus maintains high level production efficiencies.
“Domino has pioneered the use of sealed CO2 laser systems and as both a productive and cost-effective marking solution, the Nautilus offers a viable and economical proposition to meet the laser coding needs of manufacturers”, says Thorsten Foecking, Product Director for Dominos laser product range.
“For Domino, the addition of the Nautilus to our laser range, grants us the means to extend our existing CO2 laser business – which principally serves the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and tobacco sectors – and meet the coding and marking needs of manufacturers in a plethora of other industrial sectors”, concludes Mr. Foecking.
As a compact, table top system, the Nautilus is suitable for both stationary and mobile use and, thanks to operation via conventional 230 V (110 V optional) power supply, does not require any external cooling. In addition, no special security handling requirements are necessary, since the systems laser class 1 safety classification is the same for that of a standard Hi-Fi.
