The Koehler Group has already been working intensively with start-ups for several years. The activities have now been bundled under Koehler Invest GmbH. Since 1 November, Philipp Prechtl has been responsible for the further development of venture and start-up cooperations for Koehler as Managing Director. To this end, a strategic cooperation was established with UnternehmerTUM, the leading centre for start-ups and innovation in Europe founded by Susanne Klatten in 2002. At the core are joint projects and developments with start-ups in the sense of collaborations. Koehler intends to promote innovation in its core business areas of paper and renewable energy. Kai Furler, CEO of the Koehler Group, comments: “With the cooperation with UnternehmerTUM, we are promoting the innovative strength of the Koehler Group. The family-owned company looks back on a history of over 200 years, in which the continuous development of innovations has always ensured the success of the next generation. “Supporting start-ups also contributes to the further expansion of entrepreneurship in Germany,” Furler continues.
In addition to collaborating with start-ups, direct and indirect attractive investments in future technologies will continue to be examined and pursued – especially in the topics of sustainability and the circular economy, which are highly relevant for Koehler.
Europe’s leading centre for innovation and start-ups
