Solimar Systems SOLitrack 2.5 and SOLsearcher Enterprise 4.0 With Enhanced User Access Security
Monday 13. December 2021 - Solimar Systems, Inc., provider of leading workflow solutions for print production and digital communications, today released the latest versions of its SOLitrack and SOLsearcher Enterprise (SSE) document access, tracking, reporting, and visibility dashboard platforms.
The latest versions feature enhanced security capabilities to authenticate against external identity providers. OpenID Connect and secure Single Sign-On (SSO) integrate with third-party authentication services for faster user access while increasing password security by not sharing passwords across websites and apps.
The new versions also offer a range of web-based job control improvements that enable printers to oversee and manage operations more effectively, such as increased Piece Level Tracking (PLT) functionality and new language packs, further improving ease-of-use.
Expanded Secure Authentication Capability
SOLitrack 2.5 and SSE 4.0 easily incorporate into systems providing access to external users. By supporting OpenID Connect Authentication, SOLitrack and SSE allow users to authenticate using third-party authentication services like Google. This OpenID Connect support complements existing LDAP and private registration features in the products.
SSO accelerates the sign-on process for users while minimising password security risks and frustrations associated with managing multiple passwords.
“SOLitrack and SSE simultaneously support production and customer service workflows, as well as B2B and B2C access,” says Jonathan Malone-McGrew, Senior Director of Engagement, Solimar Systems. “Open ID Connect support expands the options our users have for deploying these systems in multi-tenant environments.”
This SSO and additional authentication capability is particularly valuable when managing the clients end-user access is better handled by the clients instead of the service provider. In this case, Solimar Systems customers can share the SOLitrack dashboard with their customers or host files on SSE with the confidence that they are doing so securely.
Improved Usability, Support and Tracking
SOLitrack 2.5 has several other enhancements to assist with usability and support. These include updates to the German and French language packs for improved language support, further controls for panel displays in the web dashboard interface, and exporting report settings. SOLitracks Checkpoints, which are integral to the progression of a job, also has improved support for webhooks to further support integration with external systems.
For global companies mailing into the USA or using US barcodes, SOLitrack 2.5 expands the Piece Level Tracking (PLT) module to support mail tracking status, including delivery and return, from the United States Post Office via the Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMBTM) as each piece is scanned. The benefits of PLT extend beyond transactional mail (such as statements and invoices) to other increasingly personalised content such as customised books and catalogs. Companies in the labels and packaging market can also reap benefits as the industry trends towards increased personalisation and, therefore, requires a more complex and precise workflow management solution.
Jonathan Malone-McGrew, Senior Director of Engagement, Solimar Systems, explains, “By offering advanced piece level tracking at every stage of the workflow, our customers benefit from end-to-end visibility into the production and delivery process, increasing their productivity. Such visibility helps mail production operations to better manage compliance with regulatory requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) associated with processing highly personalised and sensitive content.”
SOLitrack 2.5 and SSE 4.0 are available worldwide and, with remote installation and training now available, SOLitrack 2.5 and SSE 4.0 are now even easier to incorporate into an existing or new print workflow.
“Were excited to offer this new functionality to our global customers,” adds Mary Ann Rowan, Chief Experience Officer, Solimar Systems. “We strive to ensure our solutions are intuitive, off-the-shelf configurable, and need little to no professional services. With the latest updates, SOLitrack and SOLsearcher are accessible to a wide range of print environments where tracking digital and/or physical content is critical.”
