Sheetfed printer in Indonesia moves into web production with new Goss press

One of Indonesia’s largest printing companies, PT. Indonesia Printer in Jakarta, has ordered its first web press. The new four-unit Goss M-600 system will be installed in January 2010 to meet a growing demand for high-quality magazine production. The press will be equipped with a JF-55 folder, Goss Ecocool dryer with integrated chill rolls and the Goss Web Center automated workflow system.
“The advanced technology of the M-600 press, along with our attention to quality, will allow us to outperform competitors and improve customer relationships,” explains Welly Bolung, president of PT. Indonesia Printer. “This type of cutting edge technology has been the driver throughout our 25-year history and it will continue to lead us forward as a supplier for an expansive market at home and abroad.”
The investment by PT. Indonesia Printer exemplifies the strategy of a growing number of sheetfed printers worldwide who are installing web presses as a way to diversify, achieve higher productivity and gain competitive advantages, according to Tim Mercy, vice president of commercial press sales for Goss International in Asia. “The M-600 press is often ideal for this transition because it provides a versatile 16-page format, premium print quality and exceptional agility and efficiency for shorter-run applications,” he explains.
Established in 1983, PT. Indonesia Printer produces a full range of printed products, including magazines, annual reports, brochures, coffee-table books, greeting cards, general books and posters.
