Chiampo is FSC certified

Wednesday 30. September 2009 - The Chiampo mill is now part of the Burgo Group's plants to have been assessed FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) chain-of-custody certification for purchase of paper pulp from controlled and FSC certified fibres, for designing, production, finishing and sale of uncoated, coated and special papers.

The FSC chain-of-custody has been also extended to the extrusion coating process of the Treviso mill (already FSC certified), thus including the laminated papers in the range of certified products.
The Chiampo plant is specialised in the production of one-sided coated papers for labels and posters, two-side coated papers for shopping bags, machine-glazed papers for food packaging.

This is another important goal attained by the Groups’ policy to promote a responsible approach to resources, sustainable forestry management and the implementation of environmental management systems.

Forest Stewardship Council is an International non-governmental organisation that promotes and supports correct management of the world’s forests, in accordance with precise, strict principles in terms of compliance with legislation, safeguarding forestry resources, managing the environmental impact and recognition of social rights.
