Nordic Design for Italian Papers

Friday 10. July 2009 - Burgo Group is among the paper suppliers of IKEA, the Swedish giant company whose catalogue has now reached the remarkable print run of 200 million copies distributed per year, with a forecast of further growth.

The IKEA catalogue, born in 1951, serves as a permanent invitation to the IKEA stores and as a source of product information; the present edition is produced in 56 editions and 27 languages for 38 different countries.

IKEA’s CEO, Anders Dahlvig, recently received the Oslo Business for Peace Award 2009, given by The Business for Peace Foundation in Oslo; this is a clear recognition of IKEA commitment to do business in an ethical and responsible way.

Within this huge organization, where nearly one billion of printed items including catalogues, selection brochures, planning guides and flyers are distributed every year and the highest care is put on sustainability requirements, Burgo plays its role: the local editions of the annual catalogue (2010) for Italy, Singapore and Malaysia as well as some special brochures have been printed on mechanical and woodfree coated papers produced by our Group.

The Burgo papers selected by IKEA for the catalogue text are light weight coated mechanical grades for rotogravure (Uno Roto) and weboffset printing (Uno Web) together with woodfree coated grades (R4) for the catalogue covers and light weight gravure high brightness (Uno Roto White) for the special brochures.
